Lexington, Kentucky is the horse capital of the world.

It’s home to 400 horse farms, and you’ll find 50 of those farms just north of downtown Lexington in Paris, Kentucky.

Paris, Kentucky, the seat of Bourbon County, is the home of dozens of thoroughbred horse farms and the final resting place of Secretariat.

Paris is also home to one of the most respected dentists in the Lexington area, Dr. Bart McFarland.

About Dr. Bart McFarland

Dr. Bart McFarland graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1987, and he moved back to his hometown and opened his private practice.

He spent the next three decades earning the trust of his patients and community, and his reputation grew. Dr. McFarland continues to lead the practice at Central Kentucky Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, and patients fly into Lexington from all over the country to see him.

And they’re hiring.

Dr. McFarland and his team are actively recruiting an “Associate Lead” doctor who will focus on three things:

  1. Developing clinical skills with mentorship from Dr. McFarland

  2. Increasing production by delivering bread and butter general dentistry and learning how to do more complicated procedures over time.

  3. Leading the practice with support from Tailwater. Support where you need it. Autonomy where you don’t.

. Dr. McFarland has the patients, staff, and operatories to keep another dentist busy, and he has the motivation to mentor an early-career dentist and help them build upon his foundation to lead the practice for decades to come.

Expectations for our Associate Lead Doctor are:

  1. Ability to develop a following of patients within the practice.

  2. Ability to provide outstanding patient care in a high-production environment.

  3. Ability to lead and direct a productive team.

  4. Willingness to remotely assist other doctors on occasion when needed.

  5. Ability to grow a practice and develop referrals from within the practice.

  6. Willingness to develop skills and service mix in the areas of implant surgery, endodontics, occlusion, team leadership, and personal development.

The Associate Lead Doctor can expect:

  1. Opportunity to purchase up to 30% ownership in the practice.

  2. Ability to suggest, formulate, and implement office policy changes where needed.

  3. Assistance from Tailwater’s Practice Success team to make his/her practice successful.

  4. Assistance from the Tailwater team in developing clinical and leadership skills.

  5. Access to needed or requested continuing education courses to develop career and skills.

  6. Well-equipped and functional office.

  7. Materials needed for efficient and quality patient care.

  8. Onsite practice mentorship from Dr. McFarland and offsite guidance and mentorship from other Tailwater dentists.

  9. Staff adequate to provide for all production needed or wanted.

  10. Office staff working to maintain a productive schedule.
