Introducing Dr. Gus Fischer & Southern Magnolia Dentistry
When I opened Bratten Dental four decades ago, I wanted to build a practice where our patients and team would become our friends. Where we could work alongside people we respected, helping people we knew.
And we did it.
I’m proud of what Bratten Dental is today.
If you’re reading this, you’ve been a part of that. Thank you for your friendship, and for trusting us with your oral health.
When I retired in January of 2023, I left our practice in the capable hands of Dr. Paul Deines. After 2 years of his leadership, Dr. Paul is moving back home to Indiana, and I knew exactly who our patients and team needed to replace him.
I’m writing to you now to proudly introduce Dr. Gus Fischer and Southern Magnolia Dentistry.
I’ve known Gus and his family for over a decade. He shadowed at Bratten Dental before and during dental school, and both of us hoped he’d eventually take over leadership of this special practice.
With Dr. Gus now at the helm (and with me in retirement), Bratten Dental will continue to thrive for decades to come, under a new name - Southern Magnolia Dentistry.

After graduating as valedictorian from Siegel High School in Murfreesboro, Dr. Gus Fischer studied biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology at the University of Tennessee, then enrolled in dental school at the University of Tennessee.
After dental school, Dr. Fischer moved back to Middle Tennessee. He worked in group practice at Vibe Dental offices in Pulaski and Fairview before joining Bratten Dental in 2024.
Dr. Fischer is trained and skilled in all aspects of clinical dentistry.
