A letter from Doe Barbee

Dr. Dick Barbee’s wife of 51 years, and a long-time familiar face at our office, wrote the below letter for New Dentistry’s patients and friends.

We miss our beloved dentist. But New Dentistry is still in good hands. Our patients are still in good hands.

And Dr. Barbee’s memorial service details are below.

“I am continually with you, Lord; You do hold my right hand!  You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me in honor and glory!  My flesh may fail, but God is my rock and firm strength of my heart, my portion forever!”

Psalm 73:23-26

A letter from Doe Barbee…

Precious Patients, Cherished Friends:

I could never adequately express the profound love and gratitude my dear husband held in his heart for your blessed presence in his life.

Your quiet, compassionate vigil over these last months warmed and strengthened him for the journey Home.

Your names and faces were woven into a tapestry of dearest memories through the decades of caring for you.

Parting with you was a sorrow for which he could not prepare, and a loss he struggled to embrace to the very end.  I watched him as he conversed with many of you in silence, even in those last brutal days, his face shining with affection and delight.

Your trust was his greatest earthly treasure, and even now he is praying for your blessedness.

God has been so merciful in His miraculous provision for your ongoing care.  It was Dick’s dearest hope that you will continue to rely upon our beloved staff and the gifted men who will be sustaining his vision for you beyond the reach and scope of traditional dental treatment.

His successor, Dr. Michael Luethke and Dr. Barry Mercer: wonderfully skillful and honorable practitioners, will continue to provide counsel in the Oral/Systemic Connection that was Dick’s passion.  He was convinced it can alert you to, and protect you from, chronic health issues long before symptoms manifest; thus sparing you suffering and expenditure in the coming years.

He was inexpressibly thankful to know that, under the leadership of his successors you will receive the best dental care humanly possible in the loving environment we have shared through the years. Thank you for staying with us!
